shannon and bryan

this is my portrait of bryan
(and yes mom, i meant to cut his head off)

gangs are not funny, but a bunch of groomsmen who are clearly not in a gang flashing gang signs is...

the crossing guard left his sign unattended...

the reason i love this shot is the glint of sun peeking from behind. the sun was in and out and i just happened to catch it and i thought it made the shot... it's the little things that excite me.

the ceremony hadn't even started yet!

i'm not going to take her expression personally...

i'm still not quite sure what shannon's brother was gesturing about, but i caught him!

i hope this woman forgives me for posting this picture, but it just cracked me up because i caught her in the act of doing that thing you never wanted your mom doing to you in public.. you know, where she licks her fingers and then fixes your hair or wipes something off your face...

shannon and bryan's sign to each other in case of crying...

christmas themed centerpieces...

cutie pie flower girl...

more cowbell...

another gang sign?!?

after the wedding ended, we headed over to the diner across the street. shannon and bryan were ecstatic since they love diners!

i have an irrational fear of ketchup. luckily, i was able to take this shot from outside....far away from the ketchup...

shannon and bryan were such a pleasure to work with. they were up for anything and kept great spirits! and as always, i had a great time shooting with todd laffler. check out his fabulous take here.

catherine & val

catherine and val were married in late october in los gatos, california. after worries from some brides that i may have set up a tiki bar in a tropical land never to return... i am finally back home from my travels and ready to blog...

sometimes tying a tie once...

...is not enough

these guys were such awesome jumpers, i couldn't choose my favorite shot....

awesome light peeking through the redwoods...

a private moment between catherine and her father...well besides me and my camera at the bottom of the many, many steps. thankfully, everyone made it down without tripping.

kids get bored during ceremonies....

it doesn't take them long to find something else to do...

i'm clearly a fan of kids who refuse to stop picking their noses during picture time...

in the orchard...

grandpa gives the thumbs up...

looking at pictures of catherine and val...

i'm not sure what dance this is...but i liked the intensity of the moment.

jazzercise!

yum and colors...

but don't eat this one...

i think what i loved about this shot was that the little boy just happened to stop for a second. i don't think he even saw me, i think he might just have that much style...

catherine telling everyone 'call me...but not really' during their exit...

shooting with the beautiful weather, blue skies, warm air and awesome redwoods was a treat. catherine and val were a pleasure to work with and did a great job picking 'nestldown' as their wedding locale! thanks to jonathan young for having me along on this shoot.

liliam & stephen

liliam and stephen had an international wedding. family and friends joined in their celebration from far and wide including honduras, ireland and japan!

fun with tiffany boxes...

this is literally moments after liliam and stephen first saw each other... totally candid.

total naturals!

(and stephen told me he had some trepidations about being photographed!)

these two were so cute together... stephen could not get enough of loving liliam. his adoration for her was so clear... and made for great pictures!

love the laughter...

stephen's uncle traveled all the way from ireland to unite liliam and stephen in marriage...

laughter...

sometimes kids won't let me photograph them. they hide their heads, playing games with me... that is when you sneak attack 'em!

more laughter...

there are those things that kids can get away with that adults can't...

look for this little guy later...

after the ceremony we took a few pictures in the prayer garden that liliam and stephen tend to for their church, st. gregory the great...

i loved how stephen's nieces and nephews expressed their love to them and were excited to officially have an aunt liliam...

liliam shares a dance with her uncle, while stephen shares a dance with his mother...

this goes into the 'babies that make my life easier' file...

you've seen it before... ties always come off!

still sleeping...

i had a wonderful time photographing liliam and stephen's wedding with the beautiful weather and plenty of time to walk around the gardens. their reception was held at 'the hamilton manor' in hamilton square. thanks to robin roemer for shooting with me.

arrivederci!

christine & cooper

this is a different wedding blog post than my others. it contains pictures of pugs and a bride and a groom... that's it. yes, there were guests and a bridal party and a ceremony, but i decided i wanted to post pictures of just pugs and the couple and i'm old enough now that my mom can't tell me no.

i shot this wedding with the talented robin roemer. i started at christine and cooper's house to get some shots of cooper getting ready. i was a little early and he wasn't even there, so i started taking pictures of their two pugs. pugs are small, they move fast and i had no pet wrangler so it was quite the challenge, but they were so ridiculously friendly, playful and cuddly that i ended up with quite a few shots....

um... yeah... ridic, i know...

this was the toy they kept bringing to me to play with...

while i was changing lenses (not playing with them), they brought the toy over and put it in my camera bag to let me know we weren't done playing...

we were playing fetch.... i love the evolution of the expressions- 'here i brought it back to you', 'aren't i cute' and 'ok, let's play again'...

after all that playing, a dog has got to refuel...

i saw this card lying around and i thought i'd work the wedding rings into a picture with them...

finally... a bride and groom...

love this...

awesome tree... beautiful fall day... sweet couple...

the ceremony and reception took place back in my home county-- orange county, ny-- in warwick. the weather was beautiful, the scenery was gorgeous and the guests were delightful!

dana & joe

um... yeah... cute....

dana suggested that they do a piggy back picture... then she told me why. apparently, at some point in time, joe was giving her a piggy back ride. she started to slip, and at the same time that she pushed herself up, joe boosted her up... and she went flying over his head onto the ground. these shots are an homage to that incident...

i stopped dana and joe here not for the scenery, but because these kids were so funny. you just see them peeking over and the kid on the left is actually singing a song about how the whole world loves you...
ridiculous... i love it.

dana and joe live in hoboken... when i think of hoboken i think of 'where am i going to park'... this is my homage to hoboken....

love this shot!

i love this shot because if you look closely you can see that dana is leaning back on her heels and joe is leaning forward on his toes... love the little gesture....
i had a great time shooting dana and joe in hoboken on a lovely september afternoon and am looking forward to their wedding next year!
